I've finally figured out how to post stuff here, Yay! ^_^
As a note, the entries of this year's Gold Future Cup consisted of those oneshots we've been seeing over the past few issues (including WolfxRed and Hungry Joker). Nurarihyon no Mago and Hanasaka Ikkyu were the winners in the Gold Future Cups of 2007 and 2010, respectively.
Hirakata Masahiro is the author of Kurogane, not to be confused with the Oneshot published earlier this year also called "Kurogane" by a different author, Haruto Kezawa. You can find Masahiro's Twitter account by inserting magoroku2 at the end of the standard Twitter URL.
Oh, and for all you Medaka Box fans, he boasted that this series will be more interesting than what you're reading. If I'm correct, I think he just made that comment to contrast his series from that Oneshot published earlier this year.
Sorry guys. It looks like the new series Kurogane is actually going to be the one off the oneshot earlier this year after all, by Haruto Kezawa.

ST&RS: Well, we've finally reached the last unranked chapter. Best of luck to the series from here on.
Beelzebub: It seems as though Kunieda's Pudding Pudding Dance didn't just appease Beelzebub, but the series' ranking too, at least by a bit.
Nurarihyon no Mago: Like I said last week, I didn't count my chickens before they hatched, so I'm not too disappointed with the slump again.
Bleach: It'll be 6 weeks until we'll see this series' true rankings over the Shinigami returning.
Hanasaka Ikkyu: It's like every time I feel a strong urge to call out a series cancelled here, it gets cancelled the following week. Unfortunately, this leaves behind…
Enigma: I'm at a loss as to why this series is ranking lower than ever now. The chapter ranked here is supposed to be the beginning of the climax. I really thought it was fun reading through it too. It seems as though Enigma is starting to follow the path of Hokenshitsu, with a decent ranking until about 40 chapters in when it starts to slump, then staying at the bottom for another 40 until dropped. Last week, zenom_star wondered which series will become the cushion. I can only pray that this series is not the answer to that question.

Re: Bleach
Bleach would have to suffer a tremendous drop in sales before it'd be cancelled. We're talking it's sales would have to drop by at least 400,000+ copies sold per volume before it'd start hitting the same sort of cancellation danger new series have.August 25 2011, 04:48:41 UTC 8 months ago

Bleach
would you screw off already. Seriously, every single time I come here, I see you moaning about bleach and acting like it's shit. I don't give a crap if you do, but keep your damn opinion to your self, or atleast, stop repeating it EVERY SINGLE WEEK. I don't like bleach, but I don't hate it, it's not like it's insulted me or kicked me in the balls. Just like how I don't hate any other manga, but I may dislike it. You on the other hand go out of your way every week just to come here and insult it, don't you have anything better to do?8 months ago

Frak, Bleach and Enigma...I had bet on this issue, too...T.T (I've kind of given up on seeing Magico's rankings go up.) I am very saddened, especially for Enigma. (Well, when you consider how many things weren't ranked this issue, they aren't actually so incredibly low, but still...)
I mean, for Bleach, yeah, I'm a fan and I'd rather see it higher, and I think the epic mind screw of the chapter this week deserved a better rank than this...But it just sells too well, I know it's not going to be cancelled any time soon, even if it starts living at the bottom of magazine permanently. It'll almost certainly go up with the ranking of the Rukia chapter and the next chapter with the other Shinigami.
Enigma, on the other hand...Well, considering it just started a new arc, and I know that authors are informed of cancellation several weeks in advance, I think we can safely assume that it won't be cancelled this time around. (Not to mention the good sales for volume 4.) But if this arc isn't awesome enough to pull the rankings up...Then I think it's pretty much as good as dead the next time around. Well, I'll try hoping for improvement next week with the appearance of Kirio. If no one can appreciate the content (which I think is pretty damn good in the chapters being ranked), there must at least be some mindless fangirls like me who will vote just because there's a bishie.
Magico almost certainly is, though I'm still hoping Ikkyuu was the only thing cancelled this time around. When it first came out, I thought maybe there was room for another fantasy battle manga in Jump, but I guess not. *sighs* Well, I guess it really depends on how well Magico's volume 2 sells. (It's coming out in eleven days.) If it does really well, then it would be in a better position than Enigma, considering it's ranked higher the past two weeks. Though I still think Enigma has a better chance of living, because it doesn't have as much competition genre-wise as Magico does.
Anyways, I think at least one of them is definitely going next time around. ST&RS got color pages last week, and Harisugawa is getting them next week, which means they're both too popular to be cancelled at less than 20 chapters. Even if they immediately crash and burn after this, they'll at least make it to the cancellation/serialization cycle after next before being cut. So the only series left in a position to be cancelled are Magico and Enigma, which sucks since I like them both a lot, and I think they both have a lot of potential. I suppose it's possible that the new series will suck so bad that they get ten-weeked, but that's really unlikely. I can't remember the last time a series got cancelled that quickly.
You know, I'm not really that excited about ST&RS first ranking next week...I mean, it got such early color pages, I already know it must be in the top 5 at the very least. Same goes for Harisugawa in the week after next. I'm much more interested in finding out what rank their 4-5 chapters got. That'll really determine if they'll last or not. I don't care much one way or the other about Harisugawa, but I want ST&RS to last. >_<
Oh yeah, and I'd like to point out, with regards to the Golden Future Cup: I'm fairly certain that the oneshots that have come out over the past 6 weeks are the *entries* into the Cup, not the winners. The order they were put out does not infer their rank, and I believe the winner will be announced next week or something like that. Of course, this is all via Bakuman knowledge, not actual research, so make of that what you will. But the Jump website does refer to them as "Entries 1-6", not "Ranked 1-6".
*looks back at ridiculously long post* O_O I didn't mean to talk that much, I swear...I haven't even had caffeine yet today...
August 25 2011, 19:15:25 UTC 8 months ago
There are other series that aren't the first entries that make it too, but these series don't seem to end up as popular as those that made first entries.

Bewilderment and Disappointments
Well, seeing the rankings for issue #38, I'm a bit disappointed("understatement"). Chapter 38 of Enigma is in the climax already and JAPANESE boys who voted didn't appreciate the story being told??? Is it really not that INTERESTING or CATCHY???Anyways, Magico and Enigma have been put in a tight spot lately. For these two very INTERESTING manga to be ranked this LOW is like pushing the credibility of this so-called "rankings" done with JUMP's mangas. These stories, I tell you, have a lot of POTENTIAL! Reading them (and Bakuman, except that this manga is high in rankings)) makes me feel refreshed, knowing that they are published in Weekly Shounen JUMP. BTW, I love ST&RS. I'm happy to see that they have this manga published. Very INTERESTING!!!
We all know that JUMP is dominated almost with ACTION-PACKED and HUMOROUS manga. Not mentioning, that ECCHI-oriented series gets a "good" rank (it's because teens are very interested when it comes to "panty shots, big boobs, and bishie characters).
Well, it's not bad actually. Actually, I love Naruto, One Piece, Sket Dance, Toriko, Gintama and "loved" To-Love Ru. They're very interesting in their own genre. However, it feels though these genres is a bit "cliched" (if I can use that term). We always read that kinds of stuff if we talk about shounen mags. And, I think it is always that case since it's "shounen". But, you know, once in a while we want to read a different genre or "target" (I don't know if all you agrees with that.)
All in all, it comes down to BUSINESS!!! JUMP is doing this "rankings" to feel what stories are being read more often and are being looked forward to. If they know all about that, they can boost their sales by improving or cancelling low-ranked series. According to the Bakuman manga, the editors want to have JUMP ideally targeted to 13 yrs. old demographic. How can we expect that to series like Enigma and Magico? If these will get cancelled, I love to see them in other magazines like Weekly Shounen Mag, or Weekly Shounen Sunday.
***sorry for the long post. (^_^)

Re: Bewilderment and Disappointments
It really doesn't matter if a series has potential, if it isn't interesting each chapter it wont get peoples votes, and they're also going up against really popular series like One Piece and Naruto which has a fan base that will vote for it no matter how bad the chapter.I'd say that they're more targeting 15-17 age range (That being the age of most of their main characters) because most manga have really dark points (Like Sasuke's past, The latest chapters of Bleach etc).
As for them being moved to a different magazine, it would have to be Jump Square (Which is monthly), because Weekly Shonen Sunday is published by Shogakukan whereas Weekly Shonen Jump is by Shuiesha.

Nearing the end
Enigma: I feel last weeks enigma chapter was amazing and the rankings will shoot up, but I feel the mangaka is prepared for cancellation (although im not) so im sure she will give enigma a good ending.Reborn: with the new arc about arcobaleno is starting might be in the direction for an ending pretty soon, but you never know. Also this arc has been expected for a long time so reborns rankings will most likely go up too.
Bakuman: this is not my favorite arc, but I love bakuman. but like alot of people I want the story to go back to Mashiro and azuki, so I feel a little drop in the ratings might not be such a bad thing, as long as it can get back up.
Naruto: This war is amazing in my eyes and i didnt feel that way at the start but with the focus on naruto, and others its just a great feeling of refreshment. (also may be nearing the end but with popular manga's you never know, jump may not want it to end considering its part of the big three.)
Toriko: Toriko is just so different compared to the other fighting manga's to me its world of adventures and unknowns rival one piece's (could surpass) and toriko has a spot uptop which i think its deserving of just great
Bleach: This arc is great to me, I think people overreacted to it in the beginning I thought it was great when alot of people seemingly disliked it, I also believed that after Ichigo beat Ulquiorra it went downhill from there but I think its becoming great again, and the rankings were a wake up call to kubo.
HunterXHunter: haven't read yet, but i liked yu yu hakusho so maybe, but from the forums it seems like its ending soon.
Hanasaka Ikkyu: I felt was another breath of fresh air in jump, like the test of wits with the maze was great, too bad it got cancelled.
Nurarihyon no mago: I have only watched the anime, and i love it, cant believe the rankings are so low, after this season ends i'll catch up on the manga.
ST&RS: has so much potential but im still nervous about the rankings, its most likely a slightly older group reading it, alot of young kids want to see action.
Sket Dance: again only seen the anime but its hilarious, and its nice to see it ranking well.
One Piece: as much as i like one piece this is not my favorite arc, plus i dont like luffy calling shirahoshi weak all the time even if its true. The villains didnt live up to my expectations, i gave them the benefit of the doubt.
Overall jump has a great roster this time around and that means even if the new series are great they could still be at the bottom because how intense the rankings are. interested in magico and will read it soon, along with gintama.

Rankings and Hopes
Enigma: I hope Kenji Sakaki is not prepared for cancellation. LOL :D I still want this manga to have an anime adaptation! So, if they want to cancel it, they should do it when it reaches 200+ chapters. HAHAHAWell, if it will reach that number, I guess Enigma's rankings will be at least in the top 10. =P
Nurarihyon no Mago and Bleach: I think what's lacking for these series so that their rankings will go up; are a little bit of "HUMOR" and more awesome "STORY-ARCS". Well, Nura no Mago has a tinge of humor but the previous arc (the EDO era part) was a bit "boring". But, I really loved reading the background story for Kuratabou, Nura Rihan (man, he's so cool) and the Second's hyakki yakou. Lets just see how the chapters will fare for the upcoming story-arc.(^_^).
Certainly for Bleach, it has a "non-existent" humor, so to speak (nyahahaha). But what makes it very interesting is its ART. I know some of you doesn't like Kubo's doing (having chapters with a lot of blank pages as backgrounds, and very minimal character dialogues). But, that what makes Bleach "bleach!" For me, when reading its chapters, I feel that I'm really more drawn towards the action scenes compared to Naruto, One Piece, and Toriko. It's frakking awesome! But then again, the ART is only a compensation. Tite Kubo should focus now for a "awesome" STORY-ARC that will really blow the minds of Japanese readers. I hope the new arc will live up to my expectations. hehehe

Re: Rankings and Hopes
Yeah, no one is ever really prepared for cancellation, but because of the way she writes she is the type that thinks ahead, so if it comes down to it... but enigma is definitely one of my favorites in jump right now. yea bleach's humor is non-existent, well in the beginning of this arc it was there, although bleach doesnt always succeed at giving laughs (wasnt it mostly kon's job to do that. but he vanished into thin air.), nurarahyon no mago, i dont know i laugh at yura alot and the grandpa, but its not usually too funny, but its always interesting to me, but yeah what person doesnt like to laugh. Alot of popular series (asides from bleach) have humor, One piece can bee hilarious, sket dance i cant stop laughing, but for bleach you cannot add too much humor or it wont really be bleach, nura no mago could definitely use it.Anonymous

The latest toriko chapter (scanlated and translated) is ch154 with lead colour matches with this list, if this is from 8 weeks ago, it means this is from ch 146?
Do the people that scans raw pages really do it 8 weeks late?
August 27 2011, 13:31:02 UTC 8 months ago
Each week a chapter is released, and it receives a ranking determined by how many votes it gets. Then eight weeks later depending on what place it got the position in the magazine is decided. What you are looking at on here isn't the rankings it's the table of contents (Tells us what order each manga will appear in this issue) it is loosely based on the rankings from eight weeks ago. The placing of coloured pages/new series (Less than 8 chapters) and one-shots is decided is not influenced by rankings.
The scanlaters are uploading the newest released chapter each week.
I hope you understood that.
