volume covers january 09


...... um.... Because prepping a mildly interesting results thing for the jump top 5 is taking a while i'm gonna actively post things to bridge the gaps in my good ideas with conventional ideas.... so.... here's this months WSJ volumes, state your wonderful thoughts or just look at it as padding to the comm:

has the theme returned to the covers? i can't keep up... (Love Trouble this time)


Best Sket Dance cover, and best manga cover i've seen in a while... but then this is representing the best arc in the manga so far!


Ah I love bleach, eh is a pretty cool guy, he is crazy helaer and doesn't afraid of anything! (okay it's psyren but i find the cover VERY reminiscent of the bleach ones...)


My fave mago cover so far, but i love the side characters too much... (Nurarihyon no Mago to be precise on the title... volume 3 already wow)


and bakuman..... i think this should be a larger picture... if it is i'll put it behind the cut... if not... then i'll put the link... let's find out... NOW

all these covers look amazing. :D love the Sket Dance, Psyren and Bakuman covers a lot.
lol i find the Psyren cover very similar to the Bleach covers too. 8D

hot damn, those are some super-awesome Shaman King covers :DDD

OT: Viz should license Toriko and use some of these awesome SK covers for future releases :3

The Shaman King ones are fantastic. Hopefully this will be picked up. I'd love to see this series again.

Shaman King covers are meh... Though the Horo Horo is better than the one with Jeanne.
Eyeshield cover is meh...
To Love Ru cover fullfills its purpose, kawaii girls that make someone just walking by see it and buy it...
Sket Dance cover STRONGLY reminds me of Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu episode 12...
PSYREN cover reminds me of BLEACH covers too... Was this guy friends or assistant to Tite Kubo or what?...
Mago cover reminds me of Mushishi...
Bakuman cover is "ok" but I think it doesn´t really capture the story´s essence...

Not a Kubo assistant, possibly a stalker. Psyren's art is kind of a Bleach rip off, just without any of the things that make Bleach's art great.

With Yuki Onna on volume 3, Mago's cover is win. Bakuman's cover is even better. Obata understands composition, layout, and spacing in a way that few other mangaka's do.

This is awesome!

Please do this more often in future, it's good to see who's getting released as well as the awesome covers. I mean I dropped Sket Dance after a few weeks of reading, but just that cover makes me wanna pick it back up :D

I remember commenting on the MH page but I like some of these covers...probably To-Love (mostly cause I like Saki) and Sket's the most...though Bakuman's isn't bad and I do like the usage of Jeanne's "armored form" (though I rather have "maid form")

Ummm... I kinda like collecting tankoubon cover.
Does anyone know where can I find site that offer some downloadable cover? A high res one (image files).

(This is not an illegal act, doesn't it?)
